All GBGB Licence holders offered free and discount

In conjunction with the Jockey Club, the largest commercial group in British horseracing and owner of 15 leading UK racecourses, GBGB is delighted to have agreed a sporting partnership which offers all GBGB licence holders free and discounted admission to more than 50 horseracing fixtures at Jockey Club racecourses during 2014.

There are 15 feature race days which offer a 50% discount for up to four adults per booking, with the remaining dates all allowing completely free entry for up to four people. Under 18’s are admitted free to every Jockey Club Racecourse. To redeem the offer, licence holders must reserve tickets online and present their GBGB licence on entry to the racecourse.

The Jockey Club Sporting Partnerships website lists the current qualifying Race Days across all Jockey Club Racecourse regions; East, South West, London and North West and includes premier events such as the Craven Stakes and QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket plus Dubai Future Champions Day in the autumn, whilst Cheltenham includes their Festival Trials Race Day and Hunter Chase Evening along with the Lanzarote Hurdle and Kempton Park Chase at Kempton Park and the Family Fun Day at Aintree.

Barry Faulkner, GBGB Chief Executive said:

“We are proud to be working alongside the Jockey Club’s Sporting Partnerships programme which allows all of our licence holders to make great savings when visiting the country’s top racecourses. When you consider that the lowest tier tickets for many of the qualifying Race Days are more expensive than an annual kennelhand licence, it puts into context just how good the offer is.

“There is a lot of crossover between the two sports and we were thrilled when Mark Johnston got his first winner with Idolize at Pelaw Grange last year having taken out a greyhound trainer’s licence at his Middleham base. I often bump into greyhound folk when I’m at the races and I’d like to thank the Jockey Club for bringing the two codes even closer. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship and I wish all of our licence holders the very best of luck at every track they visit in 2014, whether that’s equine or canine!”

A4 Posters enclosed with the GBGB Calendar published 17th January provide further details of the  exclusive offer and further information for licence holders is available by where tickets can be reserved. Tickets are allocated on a strictly first-come first-served basis so early booking is advised.  Promo code SPORT indicates free entry and promo code SPORT50 denotes a 50% discount for up to four people (under 18s go free on all race days).
