Nominate your Kennelhand of the Year for 2013 by 10th Jan

Nominations for the Kennelhand of the Year 2013 must be received by Friday 10th January. The national prize includes £500, a trophy and national recognition at the Greyhound of the Year Awards being staged at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate, on Sunday 26th January.

James McCreadie, GBGB Press Officer said: “Every year at the sport’s national awards ceremony, tributes are paid to kennel staff throughout Britain without whom the industry would grind to a halt. Some very inspirational people are given the praise they deserve and it’s up to trainers, owners, fellow kennel staff and friends to ensure that we reward the person worthy of winning the national accolade.

“After putting the call out in November, we have received a steady stream of nominations for dedicated handlers throughout the country but I’d like to remind those thinking of putting someone forward to do so by this Friday. Where there is exceptional dedication, we want to hear about it!”

A panel comprising a number of industry experts will meet on Wednesday 15th January to discuss the relative merits of each nomination and the winner will be announced in the Racing Post the following week.

It’s easy to nominate, just email awards@gbgb.org.uk with the subject line; Kennelhand of the Year 2013 and include a few lines of explanation. Or post nominations to GBGB, Procter House, 1 Procter Street, London, WC1V 6DW. Please include your own contact details.
