LADBROKES GOLDEN JACKET - CRAYFORD 714M (£17,500 to-the-winner)

Ladbrokes took the bold step of switching their festival from a Saturday morning to a Sky Greyhounds evening slot and got richly rewarded. It was a fantastic night with the main event being the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket over 714m and worth a fantastic £17,500 to-the-winner.

In the build up much of the talk was would it be Racenight Jenny or Bubbly Time that would be crowned the 2015 Jacket Champion. It would be neither because the night belonged to Wiki Waki Woo who put in a terrific performance to outshine all in this marvellous final and give trainer Angie Kibble her biggest night in the sport to date.

The lids flew open and 5/1 Bubbly Time trapped best of all but was just outpaced to the corner by 6/1 Wiki Waki Woo. Supporters of 1/1F Racenight Jenny knew they faced an uphill battle after first-bend bumping and it would be left to Wiki Waki Woo and Bubbly Time to battle it out for Jacket glory. The Marathon star Bubbly Time tried to run down Angie Kibble's greyhound but she would not be denied and crossed the line 1L to the good over Bubbly Time in a fantastic 44.99 with Racenight Jenny a further 4.25L back in third.

Bubbly Time looks set to be a real force on the Marathon scene and Racenight Jenny will have better days but Wiki Waki Woo could go on and add further titles. The connections of Black Francis (4th), Millwards Amy (5th) and Malls Pride (6th) will be very proud and you'd not back against any of them winning a competition before the year is out.

Angie Kibble On Wiki Waki Woo

'She is a good bitch, she just needed a clear run and we thought she would trap better from the middle. I was a bit worried when Bubbly Time turned second but she stayed on really well. It is absolutely great, it really is lovely to win it'.

'She is named after a cocktail, I've had some stick over her name but I think it's a good name. I must thank the late Dessie Loughrey and hope he is looking down watching this tonight. I bought her at six weeks old, it's unbelievable to win a race like this. I thought oh no when Bubbly Time was chasing her of all greyhounds and turning the last I just wanted her to hold on and she did. I prefer breeding and buying pups it means that bit more. I will wake up tomorrow and think who won the Golden Jacket and remember it was us, incredible'.
