The Betfred Gymcrack - Kinsley 462m (£8,000)

Semi-Final Report

Seamus Cahill's long journey from Keston in Kent to Kinsley was richly rewarded with his Southfield Jock and Ballymac Manix securing the first two places in the opening semi-final. Southfield jock beat Ballymac Manix 1.5L in the fastest time of the day 27.43 +10. This was ultra-impressive and win, lose or draw in the final Southfield Jock looks set to have a very exciting future.

Seamus Cahill was not the only trainer to lead a successful raiding party up north because David Mullins landed the second semi-final with Yesnomaybeso. This son of Blonde Snapper had the early gears to recover from crowding at the start to skip around clear. The rest had a coming together and in the blink of an eye he had flown and raced away to win by 5.75L over Vatican Cohiba in 27.62 +20.

Stay Loose trained by Elaine Parker booked his place in the decider with an impressive victory in the third semi-final. Swift Carter was going well out in front but Stay Loose was hot on his tail and passed him at the third-bend. It was a good battle but at the line Stay Loose was victorious by 0.5L in 27.51 +20.
