RPGTV Scottish Derby semi-finals Saturday 18th April

The first semi-final looks to be a mouthwatering proposition and with only two set to qualify for the £20,000 to-the-winner final. One thing is for certain this is going to be exciting. It's packed with the big guns; Twnwald Rodney was the quickest heat winner but with four-bend greyhound of the year Newinn Yolo, Swift Hoffman with his huge reputation, Cashen Maureen the Oaks heroine, La Maqina and Sandyhill Hitman all set to do battle it’s a race full of the wow factor.

There are no easy heats when you talk about a Derby but there are definitely easier ones. Connections in the other two semi-finals will be mightily relieved not to be in that very hot first semi-final. La Cuchilla was really impressive in the opening round and if he repeats that level of form he will take some stopping. Lenson Sanchez and Coolavanny Jap are set to do battle in the third semi-final.

All eyes will be on these races but in particular that first semi-final. If you’re not at Shawfield you will be glued to a TV screen watching this magnificent race unfold. Who do you think will be lifting this famous trophy on Saturday 25th April?
