Coral Regency - Hove 695m (£10,000) Semi-Final Report

17 Greyhounds lined up in the three semi-finals all bidding to make it into next week's decider, which is worth £10,000 to-the-winner. The excitement levels went through the roof and greyhound fans were treated to some explosive action.

Teddy Bounces Back In Style

There is an old saying 'form is temporary but class is permanent' that saying definitely applies to Millwards Teddy. He was not firing on all cylinders but to his credit he was battling and was hanging in there. Here in the first semi-final the Yorkshire St Leger Champion and St Leger runner-up turned the corner and put in an excellent performance to beat the staying on strongly Market Heights 4.25L in 41.55 -15.

Diva Holds Cottage In Thriller

Black Francis trapped out best of all to lead to the fourth-bend but he was passed at that point by Swansalona Diva. Kevin Hutton's British Bred looked set to win by a wide margin but Droopys Cottage hit top gear to finish the race very strongly but at the line Swansalona Diva still had 1.25L in hand over Droopys Cottage in 41.44 -15.

Tackle Books Final Place With An Emphatic Victory

You read in the Grant Holt interview 'if he traps we think he could do something special'. Connections got their wish here with Touch Tackle making every metre a winning one. It was certainly something special with Touch Tackle beating Tybar Hondo 4.5L in a superb 41.07 -15.

Jason Foster On Market Heights

'I thought he ran very well from the position he was in and I'm delighted he's in the final. He's come out of the race well and we just plan on savouring the moment. The Regency is one of the toughest six-bend competitions in the calendar and to be in next week's final is amazing. We have two tables booked and myself and the owners win, lose or draw are just going to have a lot of fun and enjoy the night. It's a final though and you know anything can happen. The trip is on the short side and being truthful we nearly did not enter and thought about targeting the Marathon on final night. I'm so glad we did enter and well we've done it, he's in the final. We are going to savour the night but long-term targets are Dorando Marathon on Derby final night and the TV Trophy. If he stays sound we are set to have a lot of fun this year with him. I'm so pleased for the owners who have been great supporters of the kennel, they had Storm Pockets who went close to TV Trophy glory they've been knocking on the door of winning a big one. I'm hoping Market Heights can do it for them'.
