The 69th British Bred Produce Stakes - Swindon 480m (£15,000)

Three sensational semi-finals took place with 18 greyhounds bidding to qualify for Saturday's final which is worth £15,000 to-the-winner. It was an incredible afternoon of top quality action which included some outstanding performances.

1st Semi-Final

Fabulous Expert booked her place in to the final in some style. She was crowded at the opening corner but this lady looks a greyhound with a very smart future. Fabulous Expert battled back and powered in to the lead at the third-bend to the delight of her supporters. You have to give the runner-up here Klockwork Khaos a lot of credit because the longtime leader most certainly did not crumble when passed but battled on brilliantly. Fabulous Expert got the victory by 1.75L in 28.77 but both the winner and Klockwork Khaos will head in to the final full of hope.

2nd Semi-Final

Romeo Storm went off the hot favourite here and he most certainly did not disappoint his supporters. David Firmager's smart tracker showed good early-pace along with Oscasupreme, the latter just made the bend in front but Romeo Storm would soon wrestle that lead from him. Once in front he never looked like stopping and despite the best efforts of the powerful finisher Romany Rouge there was still 2.5L between them at the line in a smart 28.78.

3rd Semi-Final

This looked an intriguing race on paper and it turned out to be a real thriller. Four different greyhounds hit the front at some stage; Romeo Campaign was the first to hit top gear and he would lead in to the corner but he was taken on and passed by Aero Liberty. The latter set sail for home but although he tried to hold off the cavalry he was passed on the run in. Odds-on What Fun Jamie lead briefly but he had to settle for the runner-up spot behind the powerful finishing Mossvale Ace who got up to win by 0.5L in a thrilling finish. The time of 29.15 may be the slowest of the semi-finals but in terms of a spectacle this was the best.

Richard Devinish On Romany Rouge

'It's fantastic to have made the final and I'm delighted with him. His running style does not really suit Swindon but in the previous rounds and today he's come home really strong and done what he's had to. We now line up in the final worth £15,000 to-the-winner it is incredible, it's a great competition and a shot in the arm for British Breeding. With the new laws on travel and the added expense that comes with it I'm hopeful people will look to British Breeding. This competition is superb but we need more of them if we are to encourage people to breed. I'm looking forward to the final now and his career after this, it's a distinct possibility that after this you'll see him step up to six-bends'.
