Manchester’s historic Belle Vue Greyhound Stadium is due to be demolished after Manchester City Council approved plans to build houses on the site. This is a sad decision given both the historic legacy of Belle Vue and its continued popularity as a track hosting both greyhound racing and stock car racing.

Belle Vue brings together people of all ages and backgrounds, providing a vital leisure venue for both the local community and those who travel from further afield to enjoy the racing there. Sadly, as we have seen elsewhere in recent years, the land on which some greyhound stadia are housed offers developers prime residential and commercial opportunities which come with substantial financial gain.

The ‘Save Belle Vue Action Group’ has campaigned tirelessly for the stadium. If you haven’t already, please sign this petition  to help show your support for Belle Vue as it continues its fight to remain a thriving hub for the local community and greyhound fans throughout the UK.
