Greyhound Retirement Scheme – Pay Online

When registering a new greyhound with GBGB, owners are required to pay their contribution to our Greyhound Retirement Scheme (GRS).

Under the GRS, a £400 bond – paid for jointly by owners and GBGB – is attached to each newly registered racing greyhound. The full bond is unlocked when a greyhound enters an approved homing centre which means a greyhound’s future is safe and secure before they have even stepped foot on the track.

You can find out more about the GRS here.

How much do I need to pay?

If your greyhound was registered on or after 1 September 2020 they will be required to pay the following rates:

–       If your greyhound is British bred (e.g. bred and earmarked in Britain) you will be required to make an owner contribution of £100. You may have already paid this at registration and therefore no further contribution will be required.

–       If your greyhound is Irish bred you will be required to pay an owner contribution of £200. You may have already paid £100 at registration and therefore only a further £100 will be required.

If your greyhound was registered with GBGB (British or Irish) before the 1 September 2020, you are still able to make a voluntary payment of £200 to the GRS which will mean that the homing centre will benefit from GBGB’s £200 match funding.
