Brighton chosen as next location for GBGB’s annual Awards
The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) is pleased to announce that the 2023 Greyhound of the Year Awards will be heading to Brighton. It will take place on Sunday 3rd March at the Brighton Metropole.
Following an excellent, well-received event hosted at The OEC overlooking Sheffield’s Owlerton Stadium in February, the Awards will continue to spotlight the country’s prime racing spots in Great Britain – this time in Brighton and Hove.
With a full racing schedule due on the Saturday night at Hove Greyhound Stadium, the sport’s trainers, owners, enthusiasts and supporters are encouraged to mark their cards for the event.
In reflecting on the successes of 2023’s impressive racing calendar, the Awards will once again spotlight the best and most memorable performances of our canine athletes and pay credit to the teams and individuals behind their success. With so many exceptional moments to highlight from the year, it promises to be close competition for the Awards, not least for Greyhound of the Year.
Mark Bird, CEO at GBGB, said:
“It is always a pleasure to welcome people from across the sport to celebrate the year’s achievements and the efforts of everyone who plays a role in its enduring success. We are very pleased that Brighton will be the location for the 2023 Awards.
“We will continue to look to move the Awards around the country, taking into account cost, accessibility and of course the ability for a venue to best help present our annual showcase of the sporting year.
“As always, numbers will be limited so please do save the date and keep an eye out for announcements early in the New Year about tickets and promotions.”
Ticketing information and promotional offers will follow in the New Year. Keep up to date by following @GreyhoundBoard on Twitter/X or GBGB’s pages on Facebook and Instagram.
