The newest greyhound track in the country is turning the clock back a hundred years as it prepares to host the sport’s centenary celebrations.

On 24th July 2026, Dunstall Park Greyhound Stadium will be marking 100 years of greyhound racing by holding a six-race card – mirroring Britain’s first-ever race meeting held at Belle Vue 24th July 1926.

Races will be held across four different distances, allowing the event to showcase all the talent which the sport has to offer, with prize money set at £1,926 for the winner of each race and £192.60 to the runners.

The racecard is as follows:

Race One: 480m Puppy (sponsored by ARC)

Race Two: 660m (sponsored by Entain)

Race Three: 270m (sponsored by Racecourse Promoters Association)

Race Four: 480m British Bred  (sponsored by Sports Information Services)

Race Five: 925m (sponsored by Jennings Bet)

Race Six: 480m (sponsored by Premier Greyhound Racing)

To accompany the exciting racing on offer, spectators will be served a three-course meal with 1920s themed entertainment throughout the night.

Mark Moisley, Commercial Director at the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, said:

“We are looking forward to the  upcoming centenary celebrations at Dunstall Park, which will be a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent of our greyhounds and their trainers.

“As well as being a time to remember our sport over the last 100 years, in holding this event at our newest stadium we are getting a glimpse of what is to come for our sport over the next century – exciting racing in excellent facilities with greyhound welfare at its heart.

“Thank you to Dunstall Park for all the work which they are putting into hosting this important event, and to Entain, Premier Greyhound Racing, the Racecourse Promoters Association, Arena Racing Company, JenningsBet and Sports Information Services for sponsoring races on the night.”

Dave Baldwin, Head of Racing – Greyhounds at Arena Racing Company said:

“We are delighted to be hosting this unique race night at Dunstall Park, and look forward to welcoming guests for an exciting evening of racing to celebrate the sports centenary.”
