FABULOUS TERRA will look to continue a sparkling start to her fledgling career and goes in search of a fifth straight win in the semis of the Bet365 Puppy Oaks at Towcester on Sunday – posting the fastest time last week’s opening round.

The unbeaten February 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney and Fabulous Skylar is trained by David Mullins for owner and breeder Dave Firmager and is a litter sister of the Romford trainer’s Coral Romford Puppy Cup first and third Romeo Crusade and Romeo Cypher and is also proving a precocious talent.

A winner of her debut in A4 last month, Fabulous Terra won a maiden and Puppy Oaks trial stakes before lining up in heat three of the £10,000-to-the-winner GBGB Category One event – won last year by Mark Wallis’s Minnie Bullet – and made no mistake after a slick exit set up a first-bend lead.

Thereafter, the Mullins youngster was away and on her way to maintaining her unbeaten record with a near four-length victory from Easy Molly (Vicki Lea) and Coppice Ella (Kevin Hutton) in 29.26sec (normal) for the 500m trip.

Kennelmate March On Kit then completed a David Mullins double in heat four as the April 2022 daughter of Ballymac Best and Tromora Champion was also quickly away on route to winning by the same margin as Fabulous Terra, clocking 29.43sec (normal) as she crossed the line clear of Southfield Petal (Kevin Hutton) and Baggios Intent (Frank Bryce).

Liz McNair, fresh from sending out the first four in the Bet365 Puppy Derby, landed the opening heat with Puppy Derby fourth Queen Dusty as the January 2022 daughter of King Turbo and Queen Charlotte led at halfway on her way to a two and a half length success over Velvet Violet (Phil Barlow) and Dreamin Bea (Kevin Hutton) in 29.29sec (normal).

Kevin Hutton added to his team of second round runners in heat two as Droopys Debonair led at the turn before the January 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney and Droopys Sweet stretched out to win by three and three-quarter lengths in 29.59sec (normal) with Doohoma Roxie (Seamus Gaughan) and Westfield Wispa (Jason Smith).

Deelish Nora posted a fastest-of-the-session 4.09sec sectional as a smash break set up an all-the-way length victory for the July 2022 daughter of Droopys Sydney and Ballymac Orna on just her second start for Patrick Janssens. Kennelmate La Gitana and Longacres Honey (Pat Doocey) qualified for the semi-finals behind the 29.53sec (normal) winner.

The sixth and final heat saw Colin Wilton’s in-form kennel strike again as Crafty Pardiso was quickly away inside on her way to a two-and-a-quarter length success over Longacres Breeze (Pat Doocey) and Doohoma Princess (Seamus Gaughan). The winning time was 29.60sec (normal).

Towcester racing manager Andy Lisemore, said: “I thought the quality on show in the Puppy Oaks was superb and follows on from a really successful Bet365 Puppy Derby here which, of course, was dominated by Liz and Rab McNair. Of course, they still have a real chance of landing the double with Queen Dusty, but there is real competition out there.

“In fact, there’s a real spread of chances with some cracking young bitches on show. Fabulous Terra was superb here again – that’s three on the spin here at Towcester – and is quite a striking sort. She’s a 32 kilos-plus bitch, just about the biggest in the field, and clearly enjoys Towcester. She’ll improve, too, you’d imagine – as they all will.”
