SKATE ON is the GBGB Best Dam of British Bred for the third year running.
The 2012 William Hill Oaks runner-up and star sprinter for Liz and Rab McNair and the K.S.S. Syndicate on the track, has once again proved to be one of the outstanding dams in recent times, as her offspring captured major competitions throughout 2019. They amassed nearly 300 more points than in 2018 with a grand total of 619.
With the retirement of 2017’s Greyhound of the Year King Elvis in June, the baton was passed to the younger, up and coming talents. The February 2017 litter by Eden the Kid had a hugely successful year with Queen Beyonce reaching The Star Sports, ARC and LPS Derby semi-finals and valuable contributions from King Cash, King Dylan, King Lennon, King Nelson and Whizzy Diamond. However, it was King Sheeran, himself nominated in British Bred and Standard Performer categories this evening, who took over the mantle as the best points-scoring offspring, contributing nearly half of the overall score.
Newinn This Way finished second in the rankings on 135 points with Ladbrokes Gold Collar champion Saving Sonic her highest points scorer in a category dominated by the McNairs and the K.S.S. Syndicate in recent years.
