GBGB Awards: Winners Announced At Annual Celebration
The 2025 Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) Awards ceremony took place yesterday at Easthampstead Park, Wokingham, with trainers, kennelhands, track staff, owners and supporters from across the country coming together to celebrate the greyhounds and people within the sport who had exceptional achievements in 2025.
The top prize of Greyhound of the Year was awarded to Proper Heiress, trained by Mark Wallis and owned by the MWD Partnership, following an incredible six Category One victories during the year. Mark Wallis and the MWD Partnership also took home the Trainer and Owner of the Year Awards after a year of record-breaking success.
In addition to the Awards for achievements in 2025, the Greyhound Writers Association presented the KSS Syndicate and Liz and Rab McNair with a Services to Greyhound Racing Award to mark their considerable achievements in the sport ahead of Liz and Rab’s upcoming retirement.
Mark Moisley, Commercial Director of the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, said:
“Congratulations to the connections of all this year’s GBGB Award winning greyhounds. It was a brilliant year of racing with outstanding winners and some categories that were very close, and it was fantastic to be able to celebrate both the winners and other nominees at the Awards ceremony on Thursday night.
“We were also delighted to be able to recognise the people who make our sport so great – from Owners and Trainers to Kennelhands and Track Staff – who all work tirelessly each day to keep our sport running at the very highest standard. We look forward to seeing all that they and their greyhounds continue to achieve over the coming year!”
