GBGB has welcomed a new member to their field force this week with Tiffany Blackett joining the team as Stipendiary Steward for the Midlands West region.

Tiffany will be covering Nottingham, Perry Barr and Henlow stadia and will be working with around 100 trainers across the region.

A qualified Veterinary Surgeon with over 20 years’ experience, Tiffany has previously worked for the Veterinary Poisons Information Service as an Information Scientist. She has also held positions at Twycross Zoo as a Scientific Officer and at the Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals as a Welfare Officer.

As a Stipendiary Steward Tiffany will be responsible for upholding the Rules of Racing and will work with trainers to ensure that our canine athletes receive the highest level of care both at and away from the track.

Paul Illingworth, Senior Stipendiary Steward at the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Tiffany to the team. She brings with her a wealth of welfare and veterinary knowledge and experience and will be an excellent addition to our growing field force.

“It is always great to bring someone new on board and I know she is very much looking forward to playing her part in delivering our Greyhound Commitment, as well as working closely with trainers to bring standards up to those of the very best.”

Commenting on her appointment, Tiffany said:

“I’ve had a great first week and I am very much looking forward to getting to know trainers and officials across the tracks as well as the wider GBGB team.”
