Launch of new Property 192 Graders Derby
Today’s Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) calendar features a new Graders Derby Competition to be shown on RPGTV. Conceived and backed by leading owner Colin Davey, the Property 192 Graders Derby is open to A4* grade greyhounds or below and has a £10,000 prize for the overall winner.
Doncaster and Towcester stadia will host the heats (19th and 20th September) and regional finals (26th and 27th September) with Towcester hosting the Grand Final on Sunday 10th October.
Mark Moisley, Commercial Director at GBGB, said:
“Colin was keen to have a competition that gave an opportunity for all owners and trainers throughout the country to compete for a substantial prize fund and has been very generous with his sponsorship. We hope this will capture the imagination of those both within the sport and the public and I am very much looking forward to this exciting new competition getting underway.”
Colin Davey said:
“It’s great to have a Derby for the lower grade dogs. It gives people who can’t afford to buy an open race dog the chance to win something big and have the thrill of seeing their graded dog in a competition, going through the rounds and maybe on to win the first graded Derby final!”
All details will feature in this week’s GBGB Calendar.
