THE KSS Syndicate and the McNairs, trainer Liz and her husband and assistant Rab, have been announced as the latest recipients of the GWA Services to Greyhound Racing Award.

Owners of the Year at the GBGB Awards on no less than nine occasions, the Kent-based set-up have also been one of the most successful British breeders for many years with their King and Queen-prefixed greyhounds winning numerous Category One titles and a host of honours at the annual awards.

In addition to farming the Owners of the Year title and sending out champions such as Shaws Dilemma, Skate On, Queen Joni, Queen Beyonce, King Elvis, King Turbo, Warzone Tom, King Sheeran and King Memphis to land a host of major prizes on the track, the likes of Skate On, Queen Beyonce and Queen Jessiej have flourished in the breeding paddocks.

All won Best Dam of British Bred litter awards –  Skate On winning four years in row from 2017 to 2020. King Sheeran and King Elvis have also made their names as leading sires.

Greyhound Writers’ Association (GWA) chairman Jonathan Hobbs said: “Congratulations to Liz and Rab, but also to Brendan Keogh and Simon Senyk, who very much head the KSS Syndicate, joined successfully in recent years by Ian Openshaw.

“Rab calls Brendan ‘the boss’ and he and Simon deserve particular credit as true greyhound men, whose passion has underpinned a hugely successful breeding programme at the kennels.

“Liz and Rab have recently announced they are to retire, so the timing of this award is perfect – and there can also be no more deserving recipients this year.

“As we know, Rab’s timing in general is brilliant! You only have to remember and re-watch some of those fantastic interviews on Sky and RPGTV – and on the many occasions he has stood on stage at the GBGB Awards.

Even his appearance in the recently released Gone To The Dogs film made us all roar with laughter!

“Congratulations to them all. This award is well deserved.”
