The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) has confirmed that Sunderland and Newcastle will join its seeding pilot scheme from 1 November.

The pilot was introduced on 21 September at Romford, Sheffield Stadium and Towcester Racecourse, with GBGB stating at its launch that there was an intention to extend the scheme to additional racecourses as the trial progressed.

The scheme is trialling an additional Rails to Middle seeding category alongside the established seeding options, providing an additional classification for greyhounds when race draws are made.

The inclusion of Sunderland and Newcastle represents the next stage in the pilot as GBGB continues to assess the use of the additional seeding option across participating racecourses.
