Maxine Locke’s lead was trimmed only marginally. The leader advanced to 880 points, while Mark Wallis moved to 733, reducing the first-to-second gap from 146 to 147 points, meaning the lead actually increased by one point.

The more immediate contest is now for second. Paul Young gained nine points, compared with just one for Mark Wallis, cutting the gap between them from 11 points to three. A week earlier, their totals stood at 732 and 721; they now stand at 733 and 730 respectively.

Jimmy Fenwick strengthened fourth place considerably with the biggest top-four gain of the week. The total rose by 22 points to 548, leaving a 143-point advantage over fifth-placed Tom Heilbron. The previous fourth-to-fifth gap was 131 points.

 

Standout performer

Craig Morris produced the largest points gain among the leading group, advancing from 250 to 281 points. The 31-point increase took the kennel above Nathan Hunt and into 12th place.
