GBGB is pleased to be hosting a free, one-day workshop which is open to all GBGB licence-holders to attend.

Date: Wednesday 19th March

Time: 9:30 – 3:30 pm (lunch and refreshments will be provided)

Location: Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, Penistone Rd, Sheffield, S6 2DE

The day will focus on maintaining and enhancing the greyhound musculoskeletal system and will feature talks by Dr Richard Payne and GBGB Regional Regulatory Vets Dr Vicky Fraser and Dr Lawrence Steed.

The day will feature both lectures and practical sessions on topics including:

  • Under the bonnet: The secrets of the greyhound’s engine (anatomy and function)
  • Effective pain management therapies
  • The importance of warming up and cooling down
  • Massage and stretching techniques

 

Meriel France, GBGB Education Manager, said:

“This event has come about at the request of trainers, and we are very pleased that, with the support of the team at Sheffield, we have been able to organise this day. It is free of charge, and we have some wonderful speakers joining us so I hope that as many trainers and their staff as possible can attend.”

A certificate of attendance will be issued to attendees.
