Join us for a free webinar with leading veterinary nutritionist Dr Teresa Hollands as she explores the nutritional needs of retired greyhounds.

Tuesday 8 September, 11:00 – 12:00

Dr Hollands has already delivered a series of engaging workshops to GBGB-licensed trainers on providing optimum nutrition for racing greyhounds to support peak health and performance.

In this session, she will focus on the next stage of a greyhound’s life and discuss how nutritional requirements change during retirement.

Topics covered:

  • Providing optimum nutrition for retired greyhounds.
  • Understanding diet and age-related conditions, including osteoarthritis and chronic inflammatory disease.
  • Exploring the advantages and disadvantages of different feeding approaches, including raw diets and kibble.

Dr Hollands is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Veterinary Nutrition at the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Surrey. With nearly 40 years’ experience in the field, she has worked with GBGB since 2022 to support the nutritional aspects of GBGB’s welfare strategy, A Good Life for Every Greyhound, advising on best feeding practices across all stages of a racing greyhound’s life.

The webinar will be held online via Microsoft Teams and will conclude with a live Q&A session.

This event is open to all GBGB licence holders and staff from GRS-affiliated homing centres. It will be particularly valuable for those involved in advising new owners on feeding and nutrition during the homing process.
